Most of my life I have been on a diet. I have practically tried them all, including pills. Weight Watchers, Skinny Coffee Club, Medifast, Nutrisystem, Herbalife, Right Size Shakes, Alli, Metabolife, The Cabbage Soup Diet, The Military diet, Fruit and Veggie Smoothies, I went Vegan, Vegetarian, Pescatarien, Flexitarian, and the list goes on and on and on… Yes, I lost weight on all of them (except the pills) but I gained the weight back (and much more) as soon as I went back to my normal eating; even though it did not consist of junk food nor overeating.
What about the amount of money I spent? My goodness, if I would have saved all of that money instead my bank would be looking quite nice.
So, not wanting to spend so much money on diets that don’t work, I began reading article after article on losing weight and practically became obsessed. I stopped eating mayonnaise, butter, bacon, salt, sugar, etc… all the good stuff. My diet and nutrition became boring and I began binge eating.
One day, I decided to add everything back in and it was delicious. I had forgotten what bacon and cheese tasted like…yum, yum. Now, eating everything once again began making feel bloated and sick to my stomach so I began, once again, removing items to see what was bothering me. I began with the sugar, then the bread, then the rice, then the potato and I realized I began losing weight naturally and I was feeling better. I thought to myself, “Do I really need this stuff?” The answer was, No! I did some research and came across eating LCHF, and so I did; I was practically there already. I began losing weight and feeling full and satisfied. Without trying, I stopped binge eating, I don’t crave sweets, and I don’t feel the need to snack; I don’t feel deprived. And, without having to count calories, I automatically stay in the 1200-1300 a day mark – which for my size is not bad. I lost 20 pounds in 2 months without the struggle or deprivation. I am still losing weight and will add photos once I reach my goal.
